Target Audience analysis

To find out the target audience of my magazine I decided to create a questioanire so that I would be able to aim my magazine to the right audience. I then created an analysis to show what i have found from my results:

Age of participants
This pie chart shows that the majority of the participants who took this survey were with the age range of 15-20. if I were to make a magazine I would aim it to the age range of 15-20 because over half of the participants who took the survey were of that age range. I would have to put things that would interest and also which is suitable for their age range.

Annual income

This pie chart shows that the majority of participant’s annual income is within the age range of “up to £20, 818”, meaning that if I were to make a magazine then  I would have to put it at a affordable price so that more people are going to be more likely to buy it. And also because the majority of these people are students meaning that they wouldn’t be earning that much money meaning that the magazine would have to be cheap enough for them to buy it.
Gender
This pie chart shows that the majority of the participants were females with 80% whilst the minority of participants were males with 20%. If I were to make a magazine I would aim it to the females because they are the majority and are more likely t read a magazine.
Genres

This pie chart shows that the majority of the population listen to R&B music and the minority of the participants listen to Bhangra music. If I were to make a magazine then I would use an R&B theme as most of the participants are interested in the music genre R&B.
How many magazines do you read?
This pie chart shows that the majority of the participants read 0 to 3 magazines per week meaning that making a weekly magazine wouldn’t be advisable because the participants are unlikely to buy it as they don’t really read magazines often.
How many magazines bought?

This pie chart shows that majority of the participants buy 0 to 3 magazines per week. 93% of participants buy 0 to 3 magazines per week. People don’t really buy many magazines per week meaning that a monthly magazine would suit their needs more than weekly magazines.
money paid for magazine

This pie chart shows that majority of the participants with the percentage of 85% spend £0 to £2 per week. A affordable magazine which provides all of the interesting and important topics in the magazine will meet the consumers needs as majority of the participants spend the minority amount of money on magazines per week.
Genres interested in

This pie chart shows that the majority of the population listen to R&B music and the minority of the participants listen to Bhangra music. If I were to make a magazine then I would use an R&B theme as most of the participants are interested in the music genre R&B.
enjoyed most in music magazines

This pie chart shows that the majority of participants enjoy new tunes in a magazine which tells me that if I were to make a magazine I would use a lot of information about the new songs that have come out.
How much are you willing to pay for a magzine?

This pie chart shows that majority of people are willing to pay £0-£2 on a magazine which tells me that by making a magazine which is cheap for the consumer and affordable, then it is highly likely that more people would purchase the magazine. This pie chart shows that the majority of the participants are in the E group of the economic scale, this is mainly because most of the participants who took the survey are students, and if I were to make a magazine I would have to make a magazine which caters for these peoples needs.
This shows that majority of my participants are from the E socio economic category which tells me that the jobs which they have may not pay a lot or are labourer jobs. Which tells me that I need to make the magazine affordable for all of my audience so that they can afford it.

Conclusion: Overall I have found out that in order to make a magazine which caters for the population I would have to make a magazine which hasn’t got a lot of writing so that the participants are more likely to read the entire magazine, it would also be advisable for me to make a magazine which is available to be bought monthly as the majority of the participants don’t purchase very many magazines per week. I would have to make a magazine which has got a lot of gossip and also a lot of information about the new songs that have been released. The pie chart shows that the majority of people who read it are in the age range of 15-20 so I would have to make a magazine which would interest them so I would use language which will be understandable and I wouldn’t use formal language. Also the majority of the participants were females and so I would have to add things which the females may be interested in e.g. gossip. The majority of the annual income is up to £21 818, the participants would need a magazine which isn’t very expensive but an affordable price with all the interesting things in it.
